Department of Environment, ENVIS Centre celebrated the Ozone Day programme in different schools in Chennai like Chennai High School, Mylapore, Chennai Middle School, Thideer Nagar, Siadapet, Government Higher Secondary School, MKB Nagar, Vyasarpadi, and RKM Sarada Vidyalaya Model Girls Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar, Chennai, Which was held on 11th To 15Th September 2017.In this programme 600 NGC students and 50 Teacher coordinators participated. Mr. Rajasekar, District ECO Coordinator spoke to school children “How to reduce Ozone layer depletion”. Mr. K.Prabhakar Deputy Inspector of Schools Chennai south interacted with ozone and medicinal plants Dr.K.Muthukumar Programme officer, ENVIS Centre, explained about “Why to celebrate Ozone day’ through power point presentation. Ms.T.Indra Devi, Information officer, ENVIS Centre had interacted with school students on “Ozone Layer and its Impact on Human health”. Screening the Videos on importance of Air pollution and Ozone layer depletion. Prizes been distributed to schools students, who have actively participate.
