INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL EXPO 2017 HELD IN 13TH -16TH OCTOBER 2017 AT ANNA UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI-25.

 

 

 

ENVIS Centre showcased Tamil Nadu State Action Plan Climate Change activities posters in various sectors like Sustainable agriculture, Coastal biodiversity, Forest and biodiversity. Energy, Acknowledge management, Water resources etc. We have also exhibited ENVIS activities and publications to deliver the activities of ENVIS and Department of Environment to the visitors. The role and importance of the ENVIS Centre on the theme “State of Environment and related issues” was highlighted in the event. Various publications published by the ENVIS centre were showcased and distributed such as ENVIS Newsletters, State of Environment Report, Coastal, Eco-sensitive areas like north, south, western regions, Gulf of Mannar, Coastal district profile etc., to various research Students, college libraries etc., National Green Corps books, Gulf of Mannar booklets, Fish pamphlets were distributed to various school students and explained our activities.  ENVIS activities and publication posters were displayed in the stall which are related to environment pollution, conservation, recycling of waste products etc., Dr.H.Malleshappa, I.F.S., Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chairman, Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation (TAFCORN) Limited, Trichy,  Dr.S.V.Reddy, Scientist ‘G’ / Advisor  Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change Government of India, Regional office, Chennai and Dr. Jayanthi, M. I.F.S., Additional Director/ ENVIS Coordinator visited on ENVIS Stall and appreciated  the activities and eff  orts taken by us.Dr.K.Muthukumar, Programme Officer, Ms. S.Indira, Devi Information Officer, Ms. Aluri Hyma, IT Officer, Mr.S. Vigneswarn, JRF and Mr. Jaya Prathap, MIS were participated and explained the purpose of various ENVIS Centres activities with relevant concepts. Similarly they briefly explained the function of Tamil Nadu State Action Plan on Climate Change and their achievements. More than 1500 public and 3000 schools and college students visited to the ENVIS stall on every day basis.
