Minutes of the ENVIS Advisory committee
held on 20th August, 2004 at DoE Chamber, Department of Environment
Dr. S. Balaji, I.F.S., Director, DoE, who chaired the meeting gave an introduction on the importance of the Environmental Information System and clearly explained the content of the DoE and ENVIS websites. He said that the overall responses from the public was remarkable with the visitors to the pages crossed above 5000 hit within one year, after it was launched on June 5th 2003 by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Director asked the members to evolve criteria for developing a better environmental website and requested the advisory members to express their views so that the debate could prepare an action plan for the year 2004-2005. The following members of the advisory committee members attended the meeting.
