Workshop on “Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment”- 11.04.2025

a.     Tamil Nadu EIACP PC HUB alongwith Tamil Nadu Forest Department jointly organised a Workshop on “Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment” on 11.04.2025 at Horticulture Research Station, Yercaud, Salem-636601. The event began with a cleanup drive and the formation of a Human Chain under the theme "Save Forests for Our Common Future", which was inaugurated by the Assistant Director of Kurumbapatti Zoological Park, Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Salem. These activities served to raise awareness about the urgent need for collective action towards forest conservation and environmental protection. During the workshop, the Assistant Conservator of Forests, Salem Forest Division has delivered an insightful address emphasizing the critical importance of adopting eco-friendly conservation techniques to safeguard forests, soil, water resources and biodiversity. Further, Thiru M. Premkumar, IT Officer of EIACP PC HUB, actively promoted the objectives of "Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment" during his session. He delivered an engaging talk on integrating the Mission LiFE themes into everyday life, providing practical tips and strategies for individuals to adopt sustainable habits that contribute to larger environmental goals. Dr.Kaliyamurthy, Scientist, Botanical Survey of India, presented a detailed lecture on Sustainable Forest Management. His session focused on the principles, techniques and best practices essential for maintaining healthy forest ecosystems, highlighting the role of scientific research, community participation and policy support in achieving long-term conservation outcomes. Overall, the workshop provided a comprehensive platform for sharing knowledge, inspiring action and reinforcing the collective responsibility towards conserving forests for a sustainable future. and handouts highlighting LiFE Mission themes and EIACP Newsletter were disseminated to the College students.
