Tamil Nadu EIACP PC HUB, Department of Environment and Climate Change has organised a Workshop on “Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment” on 19.05.2025 at Government ITI, Madurai- 625007. The event began with a tree plantation drive, which was inaugurated by the Forest Range Officer,Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Madurai. These activities served to raise awareness about the urgent need for collective action towards environment conservation under Mission LiFE. In continuation of the workshop, the Vice Principal, Government ITI, Madurai has welcomed the EIACP Officials, Professors and Students and has delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of adopting Sustainable Lifestyle for Environment. Further, Dr.K.Muthukumar, Programme Officer of EIACP PC HUB, actively promoted the objectives of "Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment" during his session. He delivered an engaging talk on integrating the Mission LiFE themes into everyday life, providing practical tips and strategies for individuals to adopt sustainable habits that contribute to larger environmental goals. The Assistant Engineer of Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Madurai has presented a detailed lecture on Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board activities and Initiatives. His session focused on the principles, techniques and best practices essential for maintaining pollution free industries. In continuation of the programme, Thiru. Indrajith from ExNoRa International has delivered an insightful session on various environmental conservation activities undertaken by the organization. He highlighted key initiatives such as tree plantation drives, effective waste management practices, community engagement efforts, and sustainable living strategies promoted by ExNoRa International to protect and preserve the environment. Dr. D. Stephen, Assistant Professor, American College has delivered a session on how traditional and indigenous practices play a vital role in reducing pollution and promoting sustainability. He emphasized that age-old methods rooted in local knowledge systems contribute significantly to environmental conservation and offer valuable lessons for modern sustainable living. Overall, the workshop provided a comprehensive platform for sharing knowledge, inspiring action and reinforcing the collective responsibility towards conserving forests for a sustainable future and handouts highlighting LiFE Mission themes and EIACP Newsletter were disseminated to the College students.
